Tubing the Yampa River

Tubing the Yampa River

The Yampa River is a famous river for inner tubing. The popular tubing area is a couple miles long and it’s in Steamboat Springs. These are the things you`ll need for inner tubing on the Yampa River.

  1. Wear river shoes. It’s really rocky in the Yampa River, and river shoes will protect your feet.
  2. Make sure to bring a water bottle. The heat makes you really thirsty.
  3. If you go from the library to the KOA campground, make sure to bring a couple of snacks. It takes about 2 hours.
  4. There are many hot springs along the Yampa River so be careful.
  5. Make sure to hold on to the other tube. You can use a dog leash to help stay connected, but don’t tie yourselves together as that can be dangerous.

Have a good time!
